Government is on alert when it comes to a single power cut in capital while it is a regular business for islanders to live with frequent power cuts everyday.
Addu City was once the fastest growing economic unit in the country. But the growth of population and increased thirst for development were not met by infrastructure in place.
Failure to meet the growing needs for energy in city has slowed down the economic activities and hence the rate of growth.
But, Addu City is not a geographical neighbour to the capital Male and hence no one is concerned.
